Harrison College is the premier co-educational school in Barbados. Founded in 1733,
the College takes its name from Thomas Harrison, a Bridgetown merchant, who
intended it to serve as “A Public and free School for poor and indigent boys of the
parish." Harrison College remained an all-boys school until September 1980 when
co-education was introduced. The school caters to students aged eleven to eighteen years.
